Episode 8 of the MMAGOLD Podcast features Max ‘Pain’ Griffin, Anthony ‘Fluffy’ Hernandez, and Jack ‘The Fury’ Duffy.
Duffy, the lightest of the trio—both in weight and experience—pulled off a spectacular victory at West Coast Fighting Championship (WFC) 18 on November 5th, 2016. If anyone was curious why Duffy is known as ‘The Fury,’ his first round finish of Team Alpha Male’s Nico Lozada presented a solid possibility. Listen to what it takes to have an undefeated swagger than can cut like a dagger when Duffy takes to the microphone.
With fists and a chin of solid concrete, Hernandez, better recognized around Northern California’s fight scene as ‘Fluffy,’ was scheduled to appear as the main event on the same card as Duffy, but an unfortunate series of events led to a massive brawl and cancellation to the final few fights of WFC 18’s evening. Hernandez, much like his striking game, held nothing back when discussion the issue.
On the same night his teammates sought to secure MMAGOLD’s foothold in the region, Griffin crossed the border into Mexico to battle Erick Montano, winner of The Ultimate Fighter Latin America Season 2. Griffin’s excitement after proving to the world what he’s capable of on MMA’s grandest stage transmitted, as if in high-definition, through the speakers.
