MMAGOLD, a fight team matching the age and energy of a kindergartner, will demonstrate its continued growth in Northern California by injecting three new amateurs, freshly stamped in the shiny black and gold logo, into the region on March 11, 2017 at NorCal Fight Series (NCFS) 5.
Members of MMAGOLD don’t simply float to the surface. To become a card-bearing associate of the fight club housed in El Dorado Hills, athletes must model their mettle and malleability in the team’s developmental program. Nick Gonzalez oversees this subset of MMAGOLD and collaborates closely with Jim West, the team’s head coach. Once an athlete checks the prerequisite boxes under Gonzalez’s tutelage, they’re transitioned into training as an amateur.
Josh Martinez, Denali Scout Bell, and Carlos Perez are three of MMAGOLD’s newly minted amateurs, and each eagerly awaits the opportunity to streamline the butterflies in their stomachs for battle in the belly of Rancho Cordova’s Metro City Soccer Complex.
Martinez and Bell both welcome fellow debutants: Martinez will meet Andrew Silva in the featherweight division, and Bell will face Daniel Garcia in the flyweight division. Perez, at a catchweight of 140-pounds, caught a stern test for a first-timer, challenging David Solorzano, a competitor with three bouts already banked.
Win, lose, or draw at NCFS 5, the bright lights and absorption of electricity from passionate patrons will only pique the interest of Martinez, Scout, and Bell, faces the area’s fight fans will grow familiar with, on March 11th—and beyond.
